This is an application to the Academic Placement Scheme - Winter 2025 call.
Key information is outlined below:
- All placements are arranged by SGSSS and are open to ESRC-funded students whose funding began after Ocotber 2024 only.
- Placements are hosted by a research centre, research team, or professional services team at an SGSSS partner institution.
- Students should undertake a placement outside their current supervisor team and/or home department.
- Academic placements cannot form part of the student’s PhD work, and any outputs from the placement should not be included in the PhD thesis.
- During the placement period (either 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time), students are expected to focus on their placement and will continue to receive their stipend.

Before you start, please ensure you have:
- Read the relevant Placement Information document thoroughly, including the experience and skills required.
- A 2-page CV and a Supervisor Statement of Support, written by your supervisor.
- Read the SGSSS privacy policy. By submitting this application, you consent to SGSSS processing your data for the purposes of the placement and sharing your application with the host organisation.
